This is a criticism occasionally leveled at us.
One answer is that if you believe it then it will come true.
The more people who actually get out and vote Labour, the more likely, our Labour candidates are likely to win.
Wouldn't it be a change to have an MP who was born in Hertsmere and still lives there instead of a career politician who has been drafted in by the Tory heirarchy?
It would be dishonest to pretend that the Tory candidate hasn't always been a long way ahead, so let's look at the figures.
ELECTION OF A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR THE HERTSMERE CONSTITUENCY
DECLARATION OF RESULT OF POLL 7th May 2015
Liberal Democrat 2,777
Labour Party 11,235
In 1997 Labour came closest to winning
So, 2 things are clear.
Labour is consistently in 2nd place.
On a good day, Labour has a lot more votes to call on than any other party.
